A Connection Building Card Game
This beautifully designed question and answer game sparks storytelling, reflection, and meaningful connection. Within Our Threads, you will discover two types of cards:
Warp (Yellow) Cards – Lighthearted and easy to answer, Warp Card questions help players build quick and comfortable connections.
Weft (Green) Cards – Reflective and emotionally rich, Weft Card questions invite players to share personal stories and reflect on meaningful experiences, deepening trust and understanding.
Created by refugee students from Fugees Family, Inc. in collaboration with iThrive Games.
In weaving, the “warp” is the set of strong, vertical threads that attach to a loom and form the foundation for the woven design. The “weft” is the set of threads that move left to right, usually to form the decorative pattern we see on the surface.
ORIGIN STORY
In February 2022, refugee students from Fugees Family, Inc. gathered for an iThrive Studio to design a game that supports refugee students resettling in towns and cities across the U.S. The refugee students who co-created Our Threads shared that people rarely asked them real questions - or saw them beyond assumptions. This game was born from their insight: we’re more alike than we think. The prompts encourage empathy, break down barriers, and remind us of stories that connect us all.
SPARK CONVERSATIONS THAT MATTER
Our Threads is more than a question card game - it’s an invitation to connect. Whether you're playing with friends, family, classmates, or coworkers, the thought-provoking prompts inspire deep conversations, storytelling, and genuine moments of connection, inviting players of all ages to share and listen deeply.
SIMPLE TO PLAY, DEEPLY MEANINGFUL
Draw a card. Answer a question. Listen as others do the same. Whether in a classroom, at a team retreat, or gathered around a table with friends and family, Our Threads creates space for honest dialogue, wider understanding and the discovery of shared experiences. There are many ways to play Our Threads making it easy to adapt for different group sizes, ages, and settings.
SUPPORT A GREAT CAUSE
Every purchase of Our Threads supports future youth-led projects through Fugees Family, Inc., and iThrive Games helping support youth-led learning and inclusive communities - one conversation, one play experience, and one story at a time.
